- When RKKKC just moved to the government land in Batu Gajah in
1991, there were only 4 workers and the building was made of
woods only. As time went by, more staff came in and the
management used part of the donation to enhance the living
environment for the children.
- They had spent 3 years to build a workshop for the purpose of
training the physically retarded adults in handiwork, so
that they can use the skills they learnt to earn themselves some
extra money.
- The reason why they had spent 3 years to build a
workshop is that, RKKKC usually doesn’t have enough donations to
cover all kinds of expenses, and they could only proceed the
construction of the workshop when they had some extra fund to
pay for the construction costs. Although the construction of the
workshop is completed now, RKKKC still lacks of fund to purchase
necessary equipments and tools for the workshop. Therefore
the workshop still hasn’t been officially used yet.
- RKKKC also hopes to build more facilities for the children and
adults in the near future. They are planning to build an indoor
playground and an outdoor playground for the residents so that
they can utilize their free time by playing indoor activities
and/or outdoor games, as productive activities are always
beneficial to them, both mentally and physically.
- RKKKC also needs more volunteers to come and help them to teach
the children and adults various skills, like reading, writing or
handcrafting etc.
- There are not many visitors in weekdays. In weekdays, visitors
come and donate some food, daily items or money to RKKKC and
usually do
not stay long. In weekends, there are more visitors to
come and volunteer in teaching, feeding, cleaning up or playing
around with the children there. They usually stay much longer in
weekends and sometimes they will also help to clean up or
beautify the building and its surrounding area.
- Since RKKKC's monthly expenses are very high yet the
management only receive
around RM2,000 from public donation every month, sometimes they
have to delay the payment for the monthly water and electricity bills.
